@tumble1999:matrix.orgTumblei dont think its a unity thing because the lab works09:02:58
@scrumplex:duckhub.ioSefaYeah it's only a Unity thing with recent version of Unity09:03:12
@tumble1999:matrix.orgTumbleoh ok then, i guess the lab uses an old unity version09:03:33
@scrumplex:duckhub.ioSefaLike VRChat was just using the built-in VR stuff from Unity when it was on Unity 2019, but when they moved to Unity 2022, they had to add OpenVR support themselves, because newer versions of Unity only support OpenXR by default09:03:57
@tumble1999:matrix.orgTumbleoh, so they still have open vr?09:04:28
@tumble1999:matrix.orgTumblealso will youtube vr and bigscreen completely never work in linux?09:05:05
@scrumplex:duckhub.ioSefaNot sure, they are probably limited by Proton's media codecs09:05:59
@tumble1999:matrix.orgTumblealso can steam vr work when you have monado?09:05:59
@scrumplex:duckhub.ioSefaMediaFoundation is still not perfect in Wine09:06:05
@scrumplex:duckhub.ioSefa
In reply to @tumble1999:matrix.org
also can steam vr work when you have monado?
You can only use one at a time, but you can have both installed and configured at the same time
09:06:24
@tumble1999:matrix.orgTumble if i can get steam vr working (it has worked on this machine during my time with nixos)
then ill have more games available
09:07:32
@scrumplex:duckhub.ioSefaYeah, the latest Beta is actually fairly okay on Linux09:07:51
@scrumplex:duckhub.ioSefaYou might run into this issue btw: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/21711909:08:10
@scrumplex:duckhub.ioSefaBy default SteamVR won't be able to do asynchronous reprojection on Linux, which means it's gonna be really stuttery. A workaround is to apply a kernel patch to let any process use high priority render contexts09:08:54

@tumble1999:matrix.orgTumble ok so maybe steam vr can be forproton openxr

@eyjhb:eyjhb.dkeyJhbIs there anything that could make Steam start faster? And sometimes it just ignores keypresses, and generally works terrible?18:46:37
@eyjhb:eyjhb.dkeyJhbIt's enabled with programs.steam.enable= true;18:46:45
@k900:0upti.meK900Start faster, probably not, it's doing a lot of network stuff on startup18:47:49
@k900:0upti.meK900It doesn't eat keypresses for me at least18:47:56
@k900:0upti.meK900Are you on X or Wayland?18:48:02
