tiferrei | Hello! I was wondering if there was a way to "teach" or "ask" the update bot to keep an eye on a specific package? The maintainer of mas is very keen on keeping the package up-to-date on nix, but does not personally use nix. I said I would personally catch version bump requests on the github issues when I can, and ask if there was a way to get the PR side automated. Thank you! :) | 21:36:46 |
samasaur | it's already being scanned by the bot, you can see logs here: https://nixpkgs-update-logs.nix-community.org/mas/ | 21:57:08 |
samasaur | if that isn't working properly, you'd want to write a custom update script for the package | 21:59:20 |
tiferrei | I believe the issue is that it needs per-architecture hashes for the binaries it fetches. Is there a standard way for this to work that I should stick to? Or is complete custom the way to go? | 22:06:18 |
tiferrei | I believe 1password-cli has some success with this, I will follow that pattern. thanks for your help! | 22:08:14 |

ryantm | raitobezarius: No, not really. It's been an idea for a long time to have grouped package updates like that, but it hasn't been implemented. | 16:52:21 |
evils | hi, second link in the channel topic is dead | 19:21:58 |
evils | is there a way to see what packages the bot tried to update but failed on? | 19:22:23 |
