@k900:0upti.meK900 @Randy Eckenrode Mesa 25.3 is out with Kosmickrisp 10:05:18
@k900:0upti.meK900Can I leave setting that up to you10:06:00
@reckenrode:matrix.orgRandy EckenrodeSure.11:31:55
@reckenrode:matrix.orgRandy EckenrodeGiven the timing, I’ll get it building and make sure it can be used in preference to MoltenVK, but it won't be the default. That may happen for 26.05, but it probably depends on getting a few more of the macOS extensions implemented or for other projects to accommodate it (e.g., it doesn’t work with mpv right now).13:35:12
@reckenrode:matrix.orgRandy Eckenrode * 13:37:35
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorz Randy Eckenrode: I'm preparing a treewide PR for removing obsolete instances of darwinMinVersionHook now 19:09:12
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzit's just a handful but qt6 is under them, so I'll probably split that commit into a separate staging PR19:09:38
@weethet:catgirl.cloudWeetHetShould this go into staging instead? https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/46201719:34:10
@k900:0upti.meK900Technically no19:34:50
@k900:0upti.meK900Given the rebuild count19:34:53
@k900:0upti.meK900But it might make sense to delay this until we have Kosmickrisp19:35:01
@weethet:catgirl.cloudWeetHetI don't know if gtk even supports kosmickrisp19:35:51
@weethet:catgirl.cloudWeetHetTheir official page says to use moltenvk19:36:12
@weethet:catgirl.cloudWeetHetAnd it's better than using OpenGL anyways19:36:21
@weethet:catgirl.cloudWeetHetCan just update to use kosmickrisp when/if gtk supports it19:36:39
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzI hope there is nothing to explicitly support19:42:22
@weethet:catgirl.cloudWeetHetOh I'm dumb yeah19:42:34
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzit'll just depend on loading the correct vulkan icd I suppose19:42:41
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzwell and using the correct surface extension probably19:43:53
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzfor reference, this is the PR that fixed Sascha Willem's Vulkan demos to support KosmicKrisp: https://github.com/SaschaWillems/Vulkan/pull/124119:47:44
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzrather small19:47:51
@reckenrode:matrix.orgRandy EckenrodeI thought I got those with my PR. I guess I missed a few?19:49:01
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzyeah you removed only those used in tandem with outdated SDKs, we talked about it a month or two ago :D19:49:58
@reckenrode:matrix.orgRandy EckenrodeI’d like to get something out this weekend. It won’t be the default (because of the freeze), but it should be possible to set the right ICD environment variable to use it.19:50:03
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzso it's like, really just a few left19:50:12
@reckenrode:matrix.orgRandy Eckenrode Oh, neat. How long has dxvk_1 been broken on stable? 19:51:28
@reckenrode:matrix.orgRandy Eckenrode

Did something change with fetchgit?

19:54:55
@reckenrode:matrix.orgRandy EckenrodeI’m trying to do a sparse checkout. I see there was a whole bunch of stuff that changed a few weeks ago.19:57:36
@reckenrode:matrix.orgRandy Eckenrode I wonder if dxvk_2 builds …. 19:58:42
@reckenrode:matrix.orgRandy EckenrodeProbably not. I wish people would open issues, but I suspect many are using a community-maintained derivation instead. 😭20:00:59
