helle (just a stray cat girl) | right, need to reply to some bugs and submit the docs fixes even if the linkchecker is not quite ready yet.... due to us generating markdown from markdown and including this in markdown, telling the developer what the source file and line with the bad link is is sure a chore (normal link checkers ended up feeling very pointless on our docs) | 08:16:34 |
Ramses 🇵🇸 | But I just realised that I also have machines that do unattended updates where I don't have fido. So there the only option now would be to give them a key that gives full interactive access to the builders (I realise that giving access to the nix daemon is basically equivalent, since you can abuse FODs, but it's at least an extra hurdle) | 08:20:09 |
helle (just a stray cat girl) | lol, we accept like various ridiculous filetypes on the Forgejo bug reports, but not actual code files like .py, but if you want to send a movie, that is fine | 14:33:51 |
aloisw | I don't see how allowing movies on a bug tracker is ridiculous. | 14:36:00 |
helle (just a stray cat girl) | file size mostly is our thinking | 14:36:42 |
helle (just a stray cat girl) | but idk why not a code file, other then "wrong location for this" (typically, except in this case, this is a file that needs to be used somewhere and we are not in a place to really submit it at the correct one, that is to the person implementing the rest) | 14:37:37 |
helle (just a stray cat girl) | (also not being able to upload a .nix file is probably actually a limitation more people can run into) | 14:38:05 |
aloisw | In reply to @helle:tacobelllabs.net file size mostly is our thinking Don't limit by type but by size then. That still allows one to upload a short recording showing the bug in action and also prevents abuse like uploading of large garbage texts. | 14:40:12 |
helle (just a stray cat girl) | agreed, that is what we were expecting it to do | 14:40:37 |
helle (just a stray cat girl) | we could literally upload this by renaming it or stuffing it inside of a zip | 14:40:51 |

Rutile (Commentator2.0) | i'm currently looking into the pytest-tap stuff out of curiosity, and noticed that nixpkgs only contains version 3.3 (from october 2021; latest is 3.5 from end of january)
and reading through the release notes, the issue mentioned by jade might be fixed on the pytest-tap side, though wanted to try it out first... (which i can't due to the package not being updated) | 14:12:13 |

Rutile (Commentator2.0) | namely that line, makes me think that this could be a work around | 14:21:31 |
