It does throw the same errors on endeavourOS, just the difference is when launching system settings from the gui the settings do show-up.

It would appear the cause is NixOS but I’m stumped as to what would be the difference.

do we know anything about what's wrong with the touchpad pane in system settings, seeing it blank on two different machines

when i switch to that pane i get this output:
