@charles:computer.surgeryCharles here's journalctl --user --boot from booting and logging into plasma wayland on proprietary nvidia where, after logging in, i just get a cursor and a black screen 21:33:59
@charles:computer.surgeryCharlesspecifically this is a gtx 1080, aka pascal, which doesn't support the new driver stuff that turing does21:37:00
@charles:computer.surgeryCharlesoh this sounds related https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=29374121:38:13

@charles:computer.surgeryCharlesthanks archwiki21:48:16
@charles:computer.surgeryCharles the solution was to add nvidia_drm.fbdev=1 to the kernel params 21:48:29

@charles:computer.surgeryCharlesi want to just get rid of this hardware21:51:43
@charles:computer.surgeryCharles maybe that should be added automatically when hardware.nvidia.modesetting.enable = true;? 21:52:39
