Silly question: how much work is it to make the «master fails to evaluate» state be «skipped» for ofborg-eval?

(Ideally it would be «passed» if PR evaluates, but that probably needs a change to what gets evaluated in this case, so more work)

@rick:matrix.ciphernetics.nlMindaviIt's a good indication that everything is broken, so I'm in favor of keeping it16:58:49
@7c6f434c:nitro.chat7c6f434cIt gose against the core principle of ofBorg checks: red should not be merged16:59:43

@rick:matrix.ciphernetics.nlMindaviTo clarify; this is for the use case where you make a PR that fixes an eval issue?17:46:07
@rick:matrix.ciphernetics.nlMindaviI guess it's in scope, but it's also not the general case17:46:27
@janik0:matrix.org@janik0:matrix.org changed their display name from Janik (they/them) (es/ihr) to Janik (they/them).18:20:13
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír Čunát I'd rather say that red means that you should be careful about merging. I think that still applies at least partially, as some ofBorg checks can't even be done if master won't evaluate. 18:50:55
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír Čunát(Though it's nothing against making the possible checks work instead of getting skipped.)18:51:58

So ofborg eval is down or just severely degraded or do I just have bad luck paired with impatience?
Probably at least somewhat related to evals up almost 100% over the last ~year, see my messages starting ~here: https://matrix.to/#/!sBfrWMVsLoSyFTCkNv:nixos.org/$L0IZji-evYLXfqLjemyARJdhDXZsae4eijFoACigOUQ?via=nixos.org&via=matrix.org&via=nixos.dev

@akho:matrix.org@akho:matrix.org Hello
A check for my github pr, "OfBorg / tcl, tcl.passthru.tests on aarch64-darwin", https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/243838 , has been stuck for three weeks now. I understand aarch64-darwin is overloaded, but is this kind of delay normal now?

that check is stuck indefinitely, either queue a new one or, like most people do when darwin is stuck, ignore it

How does one queue a new one? Just @ofborg build?

@me:indeednotjames.comemilydo we know why aarch64-linux consumers dropped from 4 down to 1, around 10 hours ago? the aarch64-linux build queue is rising again (92 at the moment) 🫠11:32:30
@cole-h:matrix.orgcole-hFixed. (It happens slowly over time, Graham and I looked at it a couple years ago and couldn't figure out why, so it's just something that happens....)15:32:02
