I quickly skimmed the articles and it looks like this is a purely FPGA based switch design, so my guess is that the CPU is running within the FPGA if there is need for one. The specs of the FPGA look like it may be barely able to run linux, however I would not bet on that.
i mean given how open the design is, it's very plausible to extend the existing design to include a switchdev driver IMHO

@hexa:lossy.networkhexa* mounted to the balcony and angled for 88.7% yield (compared to setups facing directly towards the south) according to that I researched14:56:37

I use a Brocade ICX 7250 in my homelab. It's not hackable Linux switch, but it has copper, 8x10Gb, POE and has been quite reliable :)
ICX 7250 is hackable Linux ;-)

@hexa:lossy.networkhexaonly bummer is that the hackerspace is mostly up in the evening 🙂 14:57:05

@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusICX6610 is unfortunately not hackable Linux (which I prefer to ICX7xxxx series)14:58:00

@adam:robins.wtfadamcstephensI don't remember why I went with the ICX 7 series over the 6. It's been a number of years15:01:25
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusICX7250 has a 0.5 times power draw and sound level of ICX661015:01:55
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusyou lose rear QSFP+ & redundant PSU in exchange tho15:02:04
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezarius(and i guess you don't need to reverse engineer to obtain licenses for the L3)15:02:19
