@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbokay ill make a diagram22:01:37
@telometto:matrix.orgzenoI can already tell this is going to be a "journey"22:01:49
@telometto:matrix.orgzenoBack when I used Ubuntu I set it up using netplan, and it worked a charm - it has been quite the odyssey to get it to work with NixOS.22:03:06
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbbleh netplan22:03:53

22:03:58
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbthis is what you want right?22:04:00
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbwhere the middle is the switch22:04:10
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbmaybe should have added that to the diagram22:04:23
@telometto:matrix.orgzenoHold on, I'll draw too 😆22:05:03
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbdrawing contest!22:05:12

@telometto:matrix.orgzenoOh boy22:10:10
@telometto:matrix.orgzenoI don't even know if that actually means something22:10:27
@telometto:matrix.orgzenoActually, I thing I might've effed it up22:10:47
@telometto:matrix.orgzenoBasically, I want everyone on 2 to reach 4 but nothing on 4 to reach anything else22:11:27
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbthe problem is that you connected PC to a vlan 4 port on the switch22:12:51
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbbut kept the IP of PC as if it was on the vlanless net22:13:02
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbthe diagram you drew does not correspond to the wires as they are physically i think22:13:19
@telometto:matrix.orgzenoBoth the PC and the server are connected to the switch with ethernet. I have set the native VLAN of the two ports they are connected to, to VLAN 2. VLAN 4 is supposed to be for services, so the server is supposed to advertise services (e.g. Plex) to VLAN 4. VLAN 4 should thus be reachable for anyone on VLAN 2, but not vice-versa (if that makes sense?).22:15:55
@telometto:matrix.orgzenoThe ports have been tagged, too. 22:16:07
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbi dont think thats how vlans work22:16:36
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rblike22:16:37
