does systemd-networkd ever clean up networks that have been removed from systemd.network.networks without rebooting the entire machine? can you make it do a full reconfiguration without reboot or cleanup old networks manually?
No it only adds stuff.

@joerg:bethselamin.deMic92 (Old)I have mixed feelings about that. Sometimes I prefer it this way.16:02:58
@kraftnix:matrix.orgkraftnixWould be nice if you could manually "flush" old devices/networks but oh well, I guess I'll just need to be careful not to change network names but maintain the same ipspace/subnet, i've had some weirdness with that (and noticed the old netdevs/works were not cleaned up).17:50:51

@joerg:bethselamin.deMic92 (Old)I wonder if netplan solves any of these issues. But I guess not because than they would need to reimplement a lot of what networkd does.07:04:34

@antifuchs:asf.computerantifuchsit's been my experience that netplan doesn't really solve any issues, only creates new ways to experience the same issues but with less documentation03:35:44

@washort:greyface.orgdashI am now generating config for my edgeos router from nix05:16:10
@washort:greyface.orgdashonly question is, what's the right tooling to push it on there after generating it05:16:24
@washort:greyface.orgdashnixops?05:16:27
@thom:uint.onetomcurNixops works. Something as simple as nixos-rebuild --target-host switch, would work too. I quite like stateless tools like morph or deploy-rs09:10:56
@washort:greyface.orgdashit's edgeos not nixos15:34:58
@casey:hubns.netcasey ©i don't think you'll have any nixy specific tooling. if you have a config file generated, i assume there's something large you could use to deploy it (ansible/terraform maybe?), but since it's vyatta, you can send the config file and likely load it via ssh with a few commands.16:15:39
@washort:greyface.orgdashyeah. I'm gonna start simple16:31:30
@balsoft:balsoft.rubalsoft joined the room.16:45:19
@casey:hubns.netcasey ©i don't have the code anymore, but i did templating with jinja to send a config to vyos machines for ipsec tunnel setup and it was a few commands over ssh to load it, diff it, and apply it.16:46:17
