m1cr0man | In reply to @emilazy:matrix.org there's an experimental spaces flag if you look at the bottom of the config of the main synapse branch That worked, and had you not said it I never would have found it as they removed the option from master 4 hours ago XD https://github.com/matrix-org/synapse/commit/f42e4c4eb9b5b84bd1da80a4f3938c1c06305364 | 22:20:58 |
emily | if I wanted to live on the edge I'd try to patch in push notifications and search to Dendrite :) | 22:21:14 |
emily | lmao that's incredible | 22:21:22 |
m1cr0man | In reply to @emilazy:matrix.org which I think is pretty confusing and terrible UX-wise but hopefully they'll adjust that at some point Oh jeez and like when you join the "teams" room it puts you in a sub-space/room??? and all the others disappear and you have to expand the spaces bar + the nixos community to see where it is :P | 22:27:05 |
| * m1cr0man realises he hasn't even set his matrix up to support voice or video calls yet | 22:27:36 |
m1cr0man | Welp that's enough suffering for one night :) I'm off to bed. Thanks a million for all the help! And just so it doesn't get drowned:

m1cr0man | https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/124950 new PR in today. So, I'm unsure if this should be merged or not. I remember back in 20.03 there was discussions about key stapling (e.g. https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/84633#issuecomment-614584249) but I'm struggling to track down a specific ticket, it might have been in IRC. The use case was that you would have an app which you're shipping the public key with. That said, since the 20.09 patches where I introduced the hashed state folders we incidentally change the key regardless of whether --reuse-key is specified when the configuration changes. Anyone else got an argument for/against it? | 14:24:09 |
hexa | One of the use cases for key reusal was HPKP, which was deprecated a while ago. I for one believe people should need to opt in to key reusal. | 14:36:03 |
hexa | Needs to come with a changelog entry either way. | 14:39:49 |
