K900 | It's not "nothing" | 08:45:26 |
K900 | You still need to figure out which service is failing | 08:45:31 |
K900 | And why | 08:45:32 |
K900 | The non-native-systemd wrapper attempts to wait for the system to be "healthy", which means all the services are running and nothing failed | 08:46:09 |
K900 | So if it's waiting for a long time, that usually means something has failed | 08:46:19 |
K900 | And you should probably figure out what | 08:46:23 |
K900 | And why | 08:46:26 |
henrik-ch | Thank you for the help earlier. I have reactivated nativesystemd and there seems to be no issues with the booting now.
Are there further checks that you would recommend that I do after this? thanks a lot! | 10:01:41 |
henrik-ch | (not sure if I should really say further by the way! 😆) | 10:12:22 |

K900 | Pushed directly to master for a hotfix: https://github.com/nix-community/NixOS-WSL/commit/64558a3bfe73a40ba4add048e3ec586e7ff567c3 | 07:13:51 |

maya | Okay maybe i shouldd ask this first is there any strong documentation yet for nixos on wsl | 20:13:36 |
K900 | Not really, no | 20:13:49 |
greg | It was, however, very easy to figure out if you've ever side loaded another distro.
Basically you:
1) Build the target
2) Load it with the WSL command
3) Launch it
4) Profit | 20:25:37 |
greg | I managed to build an Arm version for loading on my Samsung Book Go 5G without docs, having been familiar with direct loading Fedora previously | 20:26:36 |
greg | I wouldn't recommend it, because the Windows on ARM experience is kinda garbage outside of using the Edge browser. The whole terminal will just occasionally hang for about thirty seconds (and it's not Nix's fault nor even WSL's, as it also happens for cmd.exe) | 20:29:26 |
greg | But it's very feasible if you don't mind waiting for it to start responding again every once in a while | 20:29:57 |
Arson Copperflame | I have a long list of what I want to put in a documentation once I get around to writing one, but I don't have time for it at the moment | 22:02:47 |

henrik-ch | What is the best way to get these new included on my system? Reinstalling is actually not a big deal, but thought I should ask if there is a better/quicker way. | 19:38:30 |
K900 | You can just go to /etc/nixos/nixos-wsl and git pull, I believe | 19:44:20 |
