My name is Adeeba Nizam, and I am a 3rd year B.Tech CSE (AI/ML) student.
I am planning to submit a GSoC'2026 proposal for the “Declarative user profile pictures” project in NixOS. I have been exploring the current implementation and working on a systemd-based approach for making user icons declarative.

i just learned about GSoC and was hoping i could still get involved if i'm not too late to start? i'm new to Open Source and NixOS (i've used it for about a year now), i'm new to how this process works too, but i am excited to contribute to NixOS because i'm a big fan of NixOS's approach to declarative deterministic packages. i'd be very happy to contribute as part of the GSoC program while i'm in in-between my CS education.

i'm confident i can do the "Review Nixpkgs PRs" project the best, i have all the tools and skills for it, and i can start small and perhaps even reach a large scale for it (from what i understand it's flexable to that)!

 Clumsily6239 | Hey, I spent the weekend tinkering around, and built a small working prototype for T1 (Evaluation), as I outlined in my proposal. It currently evaluates the packages, and writes it to a JSON file, so that re-evaluation is not necessary again. | 18:42:55 |
