i just learned about GSoC and was hoping i could still get involved if i'm not too late to start? i'm new to Open Source and NixOS (i've used it for about a year now), i'm new to how this process works too, but i am excited to contribute to NixOS because i'm a big fan of NixOS's approach to declarative deterministic packages. i'd be very happy to contribute as part of the GSoC program while i'm in-between my CS education.
i'm confident i can do the "Review Nixpkgs PRs" project the best, i have all the tools and skills for it, and i can start small and perhaps even reach a large scale for it (from what i understand it's flexable to that)!

I recently tested the maddy update (0.8.2 → 0.9.0) by building it with nix build on my system (x86_64-linux). The build succeeded, and I was able to run the binary and explore its functionality.
While testing, I encountered configuration and permission-related issues, which helped me better understand runtime behavior beyond just successful builds.
I’m continuing to improve my testing and review workflow and would appreciate any feedback on how I can make my reviews more useful.

 Yyovil | What if the selected project size is not enough to implement the proposed solution? My solution contains coordination with other NixOS members(not my mentors) + contributors to get couple of PRs merged first of all before I could even start contributing, and It(time to get merged) could vary for many reasons.
