samueldr | I haven't read all of it, but I did send an application on May 3, 2021 to the RISC-V seed program, and never received any retroaction | 18:29:33 |
samueldr | though I suppose if there is no coordinated action things can look messy; though mine was sent as a individual maintaining NixOS things, and not as any form of direct NixOS organization representation | 18:30:45 |
samueldr | Tow-Boot wasn't announced/public yet, so it was left a bit hazy around work "related to the boot process" | 18:31:37 |

[0x4A6F] | In reply to @zhaofeng:zhaofeng.li For those with a VisionFive board, a NixOS SD image is now available at https://github.com/zhaofengli/nixos-riscv64/releases/tag/2022022600 (more info here). Could you give it a try? Thanks to ius for figuring out the kernel issues above (additionally stmmac needs to be built-in and then ethernet works). I see the ones from the visionfive-sponsorship-program have been used successfully. :) | 18:47:32 |
ius | Yeah getting the basics going turned out to be a bit boring in the end. Ethernet/WiFi works. | 18:48:15 |
[0x4A6F] | Mine also booted successfully. HDMI out doesn't work? | 18:48:27 |
ius | Hmm, it works for me I thimk | 18:49:16 |
[0x4A6F] | My display runs on 1920x1200 60Hz. | 18:49:49 |
ius | Did the vendor drm module load without error? It tends to OOPS somewhere when not compiled in, I suppose that might affect things | 18:50:19 |

Zhaofeng Li | I see those oops as well, but display continues to work | 19:17:41 |
[0x4A6F] | I'm trying to get a monitor with 1920x1080 native res and some sleep. Thanks for your work so far zhaofeng and ius. | 21:26:10 |
