@julienmalka:matrix.orgJulienTo people running attic, what kind of performance are you getting on upload ? For some reason I am getting very poor performance, like less than 1MiB/s. I am using local storage and postgresql, and I am seeing that my io is at 100% read when uploading13:48:35
@ajs124:ajs124.deajs124iirc my performance is better, but I don't use local storage15:49:07

It was really slow for me too until I changed the chunking params to get bigger chunks

@linus:schreibt.jetzt@linus:schreibt.jetztThe suggested numbers go pretty hard on the database and file metadata06:38:56
@linus:schreibt.jetzt@linus:schreibt.jetztNot sure if you're on HDD or SSD but those parameters are definitely completely unsuitable for HDDs06:39:25
@julienmalka:matrix.orgJulienOkay thanks for the tip09:15:22

@joerg:thalheim.ioMic92Attic is also quite slow for me. I think it's the chunking / depduplication.09:18:14
@joerg:thalheim.ioMic92I also made the local storage more scalable: https://github.com/zhaofengli/attic/pull/9809:18:37
@joerg:thalheim.ioMic92But I don't think it's not so well maintained these days...09:18:58

@zhaofeng:zhaofeng.liZhaofeng LiTotally agree, and I haven't found the motivation to push things through these days. I'll hopefully find larger chunks of time soon to sit down and tend to both Attic and Colmena17:05:02
@zhaofeng:zhaofeng.liZhaofeng LiAdmittedly I do get attracted to new/shiny stuff at times, like the OLED Steam Deck, rather than more important things17:07:00
@zhaofeng:zhaofeng.liZhaofeng Li * Totally agree (regarding the state of maintenance, but it's not functionally "finished"), and I haven't found the motivation to push things through these days. I'll hopefully find larger chunks of time soon to sit down and tend to both Attic and Colmena 17:08:34
