1. we saw the installer discussion on Discourse and joined the installer working group since we'd already started on an installer
2. have been discussing the work we've been doing and what the installer does/doesn't do
3. that our primary goal is to implement a really good installer that configures a Nix we like
4. it'd be great if the greater community wants to adopt it either as-is or as a fork, but it isn't up to us to make that decision
5. regularly discussed what else it would need to do to be broadly adoptable by the Nix project, and have done some but not all of that work.

Matches mine! I think for reception you could tweak point 3 to add that we've discussed making it configurable, so that it could either install a Nix you like or a Nix the community likes
