Martin Schwaighofer | I just got one of those new Framework 13 Laptops and am trying to install NixOS on it, but the input cover does not work with the 24.11 installer image, and I also can't get the onscreen keyboard to show up with the gnome version of that image. 😂
Has did anyone run into that already?
Will it work with the unstable installer image? 😅 | 16:50:51 |

Martin Schwaighofer | Sure, thanks. The keyboard does not work.
I managed to complete the install with an external keyboard now, but I'm thinking the keyboard should work with the installer ISO. | 07:21:48 |
Felix Bühler | have you read: https://wiki.nixos.org/wiki/Hardware/Framework/Laptop_13#AMD_AI_300_Series ? | 07:21:48 |
Martin Schwaighofer | No, I had not seen that wiki page or even the guide on the framework homepage that links to it yet, thanks. | 07:23:18 |

Albert Larsan | Hello!
Does anyone know what subpixel hinting value I can use with the matte 13 inch screen? | 19:35:00 |
Albert Larsan | Taking a peek with 10x zoom, minimum ISO and adjusting the shutter speed to see subpixels it seems like it is RGB, but some color abberation happens.
Or should I not use it with Sway? | 19:37:03 |

Felix Bühler | I am using boot.kernelPackages = pkgs.linuxPackages_latest; with nixos 24.11 and tried boot.kernelPackages = pkgs.unstable.linuxPackages_latest; which is the unstable (in my case) sadly both produce the same error | 21:05:23 |

pinpox | In reply to @somebody:idonotknow.xyz I have the same issue I have the same laptop, no issues. This is all I have set in my config relates to the hardware https://github.com/pinpox/nixos/blob/main/machines/kiwi/framework.nix | 00:59:07 |
Martin Schwaighofer | I am trying to see right now if the issue went away when I switched to linuxPackages_latest. I am on kernel 6.14.5 now, and so far I think I have not seen the issues since I switched. I was previously on 6.12.11. | 10:06:05 |
Martin Schwaighofer | Thanks, that config looks really interesting. | 10:13:38 |
Felix Bühler | fyi Martin Schwaighofer: i can confirm, that using the unstable-nixpkgs works perfectly fine if you are using the stable-branch and just use the unstable package and kernel it does not... not sure why | 21:36:18 |
