@ph14nix:matrix.orgIvanI must re-do all the steps from a nix installation instead of armbian or just try to add this kernel image into what I have?16:15:59
@k900:0upti.meK900You just write that image to your SD card16:17:21
@k900:0upti.meK900And you have an image16:17:24
@k900:0upti.meK900It should just work16:17:33
@ph14nix:matrix.orgIvanAh, nice! And to the installation steps from there? Or this is the final image I can just use?16:17:57
@k900:0upti.meK900This is a final image you can just use16:18:27
@ph14nix:matrix.orgIvanEpic, will try!16:18:39
@ph14nix:matrix.orgIvanWhat is it going to miss compared to ryan4yin's one?16:19:33
@k900:0upti.meK900I don't know what that repo does16:20:05
@k900:0upti.meK900So I can't comment on that16:20:09

@marcusramberg:matrix.orgMarcusI'm trying to build a sd image for the pi 4, but it seems like only one of the monitor outputs is used, the other one just gets the rainbow. Is there something special I have to do to activate both?09:25:00
@k900:0upti.meK900RPi HDMI outputs is very inconsistent especially with heavy modes09:28:45
@marcusramberg:matrix.orgMarcus
          hdmi_force_hotplug:0=1
          hdmi_force_hotplug:1=1
          hdmi_drive=2

this is what I have in config.txt

09:28:49
@marcusramberg:matrix.orgMarcusI don't need a lot of performance, it's for a grafana kiosk. 🙂10:10:58
@marcusramberg:matrix.orgMarcus

Trying again with

          dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d
          max_framebuffers=2

Kinda takes a long time to rebuild for each try ☹️

@phaitonican:matrix.orgphaitonican Hello,
i have drm-misc with hdmi enabled on my orangepi5b. Now I want to build from there my full NixOS with all apps etc...
but using fetchGit to get drm-misc inside the flake give me this error error: RPC failed; curl 56 OpenSSL SSL_read: OpenSSL/3.3.2: error:0A000119:SSL routines::decryption failed or bad record mac, errno 0. This happens only on the orangepi not on my desktop which is on the same network.
10:37:19
@phaitonican:matrix.orgphaitonicanI ran fsck on the sd card too to make sure filesystem is OK10:38:17
@k900:0upti.meK900That just means your network is too slow and/or broken10:38:20
@phaitonican:matrix.orgphaitonicanbut my computer is on same network?10:38:35
@k900:0upti.meK900It's very likely not consistent10:38:48
@phaitonican:matrix.orgphaitonicanbut on my computer it work 100% of time10:39:56
@phaitonican:matrix.orgphaitonicanboth are connected with ethernet cable10:42:27
@phaitonican:matrix.orgphaitonicanplus 0 dropped packets running link/netstat commands11:00:03
@marcusramberg:matrix.orgMarcuswell, at least this turned the second display to black screen instead of rainbows.. Trying again with display_auto_detect=1 as well...11:44:52
@adrblo:matrix.orgAdrian Block joined the room.14:36:28

@phaitonican:matrix.orgphaitonicanthanks. i workaround for now with fetchGit with shallow=true attribute and extend link with ?shallow=true, because this was a big repo with long history (kernel) and like this it dont download history, but at the end it seems i have internet problems15:41:27
@phaitonican:matrix.orgphaitonicanor maybe I broke ethernet port or something bc on PC it work15:42:58
@beat_link:matrix.org@beat_link:matrix.org left the room.15:53:15
