@yuka:yuka.devYureka (she/her)aarch64 story does not look particularly good08:08:42
@yuka:yuka.devYureka (she/her)ah, now it's the rusty-v8 dependency failing08:10:53
@yuka:yuka.devYureka (she/her)Redacted or Malformed Event08:11:01
@yuka:yuka.devYureka (she/her) possibly because it was moved to big-parallel 08:12:10
@yuka:yuka.devYureka (she/her)if hydra uses different builders for it08:12:28
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír Čunátdeno has been failing a lot and retried a lot.08:15:09
@leona:leona.isleonarusty-v8 is not failing anymore, https://hydra.nixos.org/job/nixpkgs/unstable/deno.aarch64-linux they also did a few fixes in https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/51622908:17:40
@leona:leona.isleonacurrently deno itself has test failures on aarch08:17:54
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír Čunátdeno has been failing a lot and retried a lot, lately.08:18:25
@yuka:yuka.devYureka (she/her)The last time I investigated it was slop accepted by upstream: https://github.com/denoland/deno/pull/3301508:25:45
@yuka:yuka.devYureka (she/her)that was a build failure though, not a test failure08:26:18
@yuka:yuka.devYureka (she/her)but we may need to downgrade our expectations and test more thoroughly before upgrading08:26:45
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír ČunátQuite a few newly-failing jobs on darwin, but nothing terrible, I think: https://hydra.nixos.org/eval/1825120#tabs-now-fail12:49:02
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír Čunát I expect that we start new staging-next roughly in 24h. 13:02:47
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír ČunátI'm warming up darwin stdenvs already.13:03:16
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír Čunát Release schedule says that we merge in 5 days from now. That's certainly not happening. /cc yaya just in case you assumed that we follow it 😅 13:04:48
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír ČunátNormally it takes two weeks.13:05:22
@leona:leona.isleonain very good cases 1.5 weeks13:05:35
@hexa:lossy.networkhexagood cases imply people care about issues early :p13:06:05
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír ČunátOften people try to squeeze as much changes as possible at the last moment, so... we'll see 😅13:06:36
@leona:leona.isleonai'll try more this cycle (I currently also have more time), but will see :D13:06:37
@yaya:uwu.isyayayeah I was about to ask about the status of starting the cycle ^^13:11:19
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír Čunát I pinged the gnome 50 PR, as it has nontrivial upgrades and even though there is DE exception, we don't need to overuse it unless necessary. 13:12:57
@hexa:lossy.networkhexayeah, that has me a bit worried13:17:09
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír ČunátI think it looked similar in the past few releases, at least at a very superficial glance.13:20:06
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír Čunát* I think it looked similar during the past few releases, at least at a very superficial glance.13:20:13

@winston:winston.shwinstonRE the gnome 50 PR, I worked on it early on in March. now that it's merged, I guess we have a week-ish to settle on how we'll make the gdm nixos module work? IIRC the problem was just that gdm wasn't running with the correct user, the rest of the PR looked good in a VM14:04:27
@emilazy:matrix.orgemilyit was something to do with systemd-userdbd, right? maybe https://matrix.to/#/!SsuQHVzf59iBgk6YIm:0upti.me?via=nixos.org&via=matrix.org&via=tchncs.de can be of assistance (though I agree with https://matrix.to/#/!CTCrFzsBPYmDLmrja4:0upti.me/$2U9w2iyhK1hrYALIqmpThd3tsjENevltL9-NC5SPnjk?via=nixos.org&via=matrix.org&via=tchncs.de that the seeming partial collapse of GNOME maintenance is concerning going forward)14:11:46
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír ČunátI suppose it's a gamble. The time to merge to master would normally be about two weeks at this point.14:12:47
@winston:winston.shwinstonyeah, and for 51 there'll be even more of a dependency on it https://blogs.gnome.org/adrianvovk/2025/06/10/gnome-systemd-dependencies/14:13:33
