There is Seedvault but first of all it only works with Nextcloud (nuff said) and second those apps where I really care about the data like Signal and Threema don't support Android backup.
I think USB also, but I haven't tested.

@cdesai:matrix.orgcdeYes USB works much better for backups09:11:02
@cdesai:matrix.orgcdeDavx5 is testing a genetic saf WebDAV provider which looks very promising.09:11:31

@kraftnix:matrix.orgkraftnixI have used both USB and Nextcloud for Seedvault backup. USB is much more reliable, I have to full reset/reinstall my nextcloud every few months as the backups will just fail everytime after a while 😥14:50:31

@linus.heckemann:matrix.mayflower.deLinux Hackermanhuh, I haven't had that problem with seedvault/nextcloud since setting it up about a year ago14:51:31
@kraftnix:matrix.orgkraftnixmaybe its a me problem then? i should probably look at the logs but its often easier to just reinstall the nextcloud app and re setup seedvault14:52:57

@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrf Just tagged and pushed lineageos-2021102406. Tested on sunfish 19:58:45
@danvittegleo:matrix.orgdan-v danielrf what flavor do you run on your personal phone 20:01:12
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrfHope to have my personal device migrated to android 12 by end of today / tomorrow. After that, would love to hear feedback from others if they are able to successfully upgrade as well.20:01:41
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrf dan-v: My pixel 3 xl is on grapheneos currently. I might switch to vanilla when the Pixel 6 pro gets delivered, just to have better testing of that flavor 20:02:52
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrfI'll probably hold off on tagging a commit for vanilla/graphenos until we have at least one other person who has successfully upgraded.20:04:32
@yuka:yuka.devYuka (she/her)building it now20:22:00
@yuka:yuka.devYuka (she/her)can probably say something tomorrow20:22:13
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrf Yuka (she/her): what flavor / device, and are you using any additional modules? 20:22:47
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrfThere's a couple fixes for certain modules I'm currently working on here: https://github.com/danielfullmer/robotnix/pull/12920:23:03
@yuka:yuka.devYuka (she/her)GrapheneOS on bramble20:23:21
@yuka:yuka.devYuka (she/her)With f-droid and seedvault20:23:34
@yuka:yuka.devYuka (she/her) * With f-droid, updater and seedvault20:23:42
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrfOK. Perfect, i think combination should all be working20:23:54
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrfLet me know if not :)20:23:59
@yuka:yuka.devYuka (she/her)I also had microG until now, but wanted to give the Graphene sandboxed play services a try20:24:17
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrf * OK. Perfect, i think that combination should all be working20:28:26
@kranzes:matrix.orgkranzes danielrf Can you update bromite and push to cachix? 20:48:10
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrf kranzes: Sure, let me look into that again. I thought I ran into a build issue last time that was nontrivial, but maybe there's a fix already 20:51:02
@kranzes:matrix.orgkranzesYou should consider using github actions/workflows to automatically update sources for some stuff in robotnix20:51:39
@kranzes:matrix.orgkranzeshttps://github.com/Kranzes/robotnix-forklineageos/blob/master/.github/workflows/lineageos-update.yaml20:52:27
@kranzes:matrix.orgkranzesI use this for ForkLineageOS20:52:36
