@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesno02:03:53
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesyou were the only one he took seriously02:03:58
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesI am glad that you did that02:04:02
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesI think it helped02:04:05
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesI am not comfortable giving my opinion of him in this public setting, we can take this to 1:1 if you want to discuss more02:04:28
@jonringer:matrix.orgjonringer
In reply to @irenes:matrix.org
it is incorrect that nobody reached out to him prior to that thread
This is technically true. I was the first that wanted to help him, rather than just let me know how he f**ked up
02:04:36
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesI can only imagine how he'd feel if he joined this channel and saw the discussion of him02:04:36
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesI wasn't a party to all of this either, I can only answer for my own actions, you know02:04:59
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesI saw that something was broken so I got involved to try to fix it02:05:08
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesI agree that it should never have come to that02:05:14
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenes at the risk of being overly self congratulatory, this sort of thing is why the RFC focuses so heavily on having an actual job that is to mediate conflicts 02:08:16
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesie. help people talk them through in whatever way is most appropriate for the situation02:08:24
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesI don't want a repeat of that mess02:08:42
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesthat's the whole point02:08:47
@tomberek:matrix.orgtomberekI'd like to understand the "I do personally believe, although it’s hard to be sure, that most people who read it liked it and didn’t comment because there was nothing to change I sure hope we have some way to assess that seriously in this process" part. I'm interested in this belief and assessment.02:09:04
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesI mean, we got a lot of extremely positive comments on the GitHub thread02:09:26
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenessome of them short, some of them long02:09:31
@irenes:matrix.orgIreneswe also got lots of positive reactji02:09:37
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesI've never been through the RFC process before so I'm not qualified to speak to the procedures for adoption02:10:10
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesI was just expressing a hope that we can look at what the community actually thinks, you know?02:10:55
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesrather than have the conversation be dominated by whoever talks loudest, because I don't think that would be fair to anyone02:11:11

In reply to @irenes:matrix.org

I've talked to him a lot, and he would agree with most of what I said. If he wants to join the discussion, I would be more than glad for him to do so.

@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesokay02:11:46
@irenes:matrix.orgIreneswell02:11:47
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesmy thoughts on sandro are that, of course, if the RFC were enacted it should be a clean slate02:11:58
@jonringer:matrix.orgjonringerBut he's also aware that he's not great at inter-personal communication.02:12:03
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenessure02:12:09
@jonringer:matrix.orgjonringerAt least this room is public, so if he doesn't want to "audit" anything, he's free to do so.02:12:32
@irenes:matrix.orgIrenesI know for a fact that people he's scared of have more empathy for him than he thinks02:12:34
@jonringer:matrix.orgjonringer * At least this room is public, so if he does want to "audit" anything, he's free to do so.02:12:38
