rrix | it seems like savannah is getting hammered again harder so we/upstream nixpkgs will need to figure out something, i bet all ~gnu packages will fail when they're updated now, not just emacs... | 06:49:24 |
rrix | okay okay only 8 fetchFromSavannah's in nixpkgs... | 06:50:04 |

zebrag | While working on the thing I was working on, at one point I've been able to connect to savannah, and I used that to make a clone. Point is, sometimes it works. But that's a problem. Someone did point me to a clone: https://sr.ht/~bzg/org. I couldn't reach it last time but it works for me now. | 16:21:19 |

Узумаки | Does anyone know why emacsclient -e would take a long time to return to shell while taking effect in Emacs immediately? | 18:01:19 |
28 Jan 2025 |
shapr | I had problems with emacsclient because I had a bunch of open files in my desktop that required loading a big pile of envrc environments. I can't think that could be the problem, but that's the only information I have. | 03:30:56 |

zebrag | Yes, I only go there when I have questions that I can't solve any other way. What is very well organized in terms of bullying control and getting help to those who need it is the Debian community. There was a time, not so long ago, when the emacs irc chat room was very, very toxic. It got better a few years ago, but you really have to be motivated to get an answer to anything. So as a rule of thumb, I limit the time I spend there to what is strictly necessary to get unstuck. | 06:13:17 |

What is the appropriate way to manage tdlib and telega? Because sometimes it occurs that I have to either manually override the version or wait for telega to support the given version in unstable and it's becoming a tedious task | 20:50:45 |

What is the appropriate way to manage tdlib and telega? Because sometimes it occurs that I have to either manually override the version or wait for telega to support the given version in unstable and it's becoming a tedious task If you want to avoid this, you can use telega from melpa stable with tdlib 1.8.0, which doesn't update frequencely.
Otherwise, waiting for migration is necessary. With emacs-overlay, you can stopping update for several days if there is new version tdlib | 14:26:16 |
