@me:linj.techlinjI planned to workaround that in update-melpa.el but I was a bit busy in the past few days 😅04:37:35

@lxsameer:matrix.orglxsameerhey folks, It's been a while since I'm working on an emacs distribution, since a few months ago I've decided to ditch straight.el in favour of Nix. So far, it's been working well, and I kinda like the design. Just want to share it with you, it might be useful to others as well https://sr.ht/~lxsameer/FG42/17:38:22
@lxsameer:matrix.orglxsameerbtw, any feedback is welcomed 17:38:31

@eval-on-point:matrix.orgeval-on-pointIs there a simple way to see which emacs packages you upgraded?20:12:06
@eval-on-point:matrix.orgeval-on-point * Is there a simple way to see which emacs packages you upgraded? (using emacs-overlay in a flake for my nixOS system, if it matters)20:12:27
@lxsameer:matrix.orglxsameeron top of my head, diff ing your flake.lock file should be pretty easy20:31:08
@antifuchs:asf.computerantifuchsbut that only gives you the rev of emacs-overlay, no?21:25:15
@antifuchs:asf.computerantifuchsthere are some nix package set diffing tools out there, but not sure how they work with overlays21:26:02

@bestlem:matrix.orgbestlem Nvd https://khumba.net/projects/nvd/ diffs builds. I use it as part of my build and can't remember the correct incantation 11:51:47
@eval-on-point:matrix.orgeval-on-pointThat looks awesome and perhaps just what I was looking for. Thanks!17:07:19

@cor:goblin.shcoris it worth it to learn emacs? currently using helix, but finding the lack of a plugin system to be hurting me. now considering to switch to either neovim or emacs20:06:01
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbI personally like emacs, its very powerful and you can really do anything with enough determination. 22:01:28

@adis:blad.isadisbladis

I've been using Emacs for 16 years and it's yet to let me down.
There isn't a lot of tech I can say that about.

Emacs isn't always the easiest, but it's a worthwhile investment
