Unless we want to discuss alternative names to "unit" some more first (no strong opinions on my side either way), I'd suggest that the other Shepherds review the current text and then give their go in direction of FCP?

Keen to try out derivationStrict but I ran into this eval error when swapping it in to derivationWithMeta:

I'd say let's wait until the middle of next week to give Robert Hensing (roberth) (co-author) and niksnut more time to reply and argue. If some new good arguments are brought up until then we might have to think some more.
If not, I think I'll just make a comment to ask all shepherds to upvote that comment if they agree to do FCP
