@asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.uk | is this a bug? | 14:59:50 |
lassulus | hmm, seems like the zap is not powerful enough :D | 15:55:44 |
lassulus | I guess we can ignore the return value for zap-all in that case? maybe use wipefs or so instead | 15:56:50 |

phaer | should sgdisk --zap-all be called at all for mdadm devices? Not an mdadm user myself anymore, but my impression was that you'd do a mdadm -S and then zap/wipe the underlying physical disk? | 11:32:33 |

bumperboat (UTC+2) | i added a btrfs subvol to my disko config, it doesnt seem to be created after the fact - is it expected to? | 07:29:35 |
srestegosaurio (on tchncs.de) | In reply to @bumperboat:matrix.org i added a btrfs subvol to my disko config, it doesnt seem to be created after the fact - is it expected to? I was having similar experience. I ended up creating the volume myself. | 11:21:58 |
srestegosaurio (on tchncs.de) | Disco would take care of mounting it for me tho. | 11:22:14 |
bumperboat (UTC+2) | ok thx, i see it does make the mount unit, and fails because it didnt make the subvol | 11:23:18 |
srestegosaurio (on tchncs.de) | In reply to @bumperboat:matrix.org ok thx, i see it does make the mount unit, and fails because it didnt make the subvol Yep, exactly the same. | 11:29:40 |
bumperboat (UTC+2) | thx for the confirmation | 11:43:54 |
lassulus | support for running the createscript after rebuild again is very new and not thoroughly tested. You have to run the create script (not the diskoScript) manually and it should create new subvolumes, lvs and datasets. But better have backups :) | 11:48:18 |

arjan5 | Question: is it possible to define a disk/partition optionally? I want the boot process to continue if a certain disk is missing. | 19:38:39 |
bumperboat (UTC+2) | use 'nofail' as a mount option? | 19:42:08 |

Sam Lehman | having a couple issues running config.system.build.vmWithDisko with a tmpfs root, luks, lvm_pv, & btrfs and wasn't sure if I am misconfiguring something. - it seems
/mnt is never created sgdisk fails to create my 2nd partition (luks container with lvm_pv with btrfs)
I dont particularly need the vm, just want to test my disko config, before trying to install. If anyone has any insight, it would be appreciated 🙏 | 20:18:05 |
lassulus | hmm, maybe more logs would help to debug that | 20:26:55 |
Sam Lehman | backed up all my data to an external drive temporarily, so im logged out of my matrix clients. gimme a sec to transfer the logs & config to my phone | 20:31:34 |
Sam Lehman | Download disko.nix | 20:47:56 |

lassulus | Sam Lehman: ah sorry for the delay, had to drive home | 21:45:15 |
lassulus | your end is on the same block as the beginning of the second partition | 21:45:25 |
lassulus | it's a bit stupid, that sgdisk does it that way | 21:45:33 |
lassulus | but you need to move it one block further, not sure what the best way is to do that :D | 21:45:52 |
lassulus | usually sgdisk does it automatically if you leave start out | 21:46:01 |
Sam Lehman | In reply to @lassulus:lassul.us Sam Lehman: ah sorry for the delay, had to drive home no worries, I appreciate your help! | 23:13:07 |
Sam Lehman | In reply to @lassulus:lassul.us your end is on the same block as the beginning of the second partition removing the start attr fixed that problem. now to deal with secrets for the luks decryption | 23:14:12 |
