@asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.uk@asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.ukis this a bug?14:59:50
@lassulus:lassul.uslassulushmm, seems like the zap is not powerful enough :D15:55:44
@lassulus:lassul.uslassulusI guess we can ignore the return value for zap-all in that case? maybe use wipefs or so instead15:56:50

@phaer:matrix.orgphaershould sgdisk --zap-all be called at all for mdadm devices? Not an mdadm user myself anymore, but my impression was that you'd do a mdadm -S and then zap/wipe the underlying physical disk?11:32:33

I was having similar experience. I ended up creating the volume myself.

@srestegosaurio:tchncs.desrestegosaurio (on tchncs.de)Disco would take care of mounting it for me tho.11:22:14
@bumperboat:matrix.orgbumperboat (UTC+2)ok thx, i see it does make the mount unit, and fails because it didnt make the subvol11:23:18

Yep, exactly the same.

@lassulus:lassul.uslassulussupport for running the createscript after rebuild again is very new and not thoroughly tested. You have to run the create script (not the diskoScript) manually and it should create new subvolumes, lvs and datasets. But better have backups :)11:48:18

Didn't know about this, thanks for the heads up.

@arjan5:matrix.orgarjan5Question: is it possible to define a disk/partition optionally? I want the boot process to continue if a certain disk is missing.19:38:39
@bumperboat:matrix.orgbumperboat (UTC+2)use 'nofail' as a mount option?19:42:08

having a couple issues running config.system.build.vmWithDisko with a tmpfs root, luks, lvm_pv, & btrfs and wasn't sure if I am misconfiguring something.

  1. it seems /mnt is never created
  2. sgdisk fails to create my 2nd partition (luks container with lvm_pv with btrfs)

I dont particularly need the vm, just want to test my disko config, before trying to install. If anyone has any insight, it would be appreciated 🙏

@lassulus:lassul.uslassulushmm, maybe more logs would help to debug that20:26:55
@lehmanator:tchncs.deSam Lehmanbacked up all my data to an external drive temporarily, so im logged out of my matrix clients. gimme a sec to transfer the logs & config to my phone20:31:34

@lassulus:lassul.uslassulus Sam Lehman: ah sorry for the delay, had to drive home 21:45:15
@lassulus:lassul.uslassulusyour end is on the same block as the beginning of the second partition21:45:25
@lassulus:lassul.uslassulusit's a bit stupid, that sgdisk does it that way21:45:33
@lassulus:lassul.uslassulusbut you need to move it one block further, not sure what the best way is to do that :D21:45:52
@lassulus:lassul.uslassulususually sgdisk does it automatically if you leave start out21:46:01

your end is on the same block as the beginning of the second partition
removing the start attr fixed that problem. now to deal with secrets for the luks decryption
