One could use https://media.ccc.de/ where NixCon 2023 was uploaded | 12:04:40
I'd not rely on that... They swing with their good will depending on whom you ask and who they interpret the current project politics. In the past there were talks about using https://conf.tube/ in addition to youtube and putting the files on a (public) S3 bucket by the foundation. Not sure either has gone very far. | 12:05:40

This just reminded me, we are looking for a Nix company. Ideally in Switzerland and speaking German. We are looking for someone who can help us with further integrating Nix and in the future hopefully NixOS and who my colleagues can contact when I'm on holidays. I'm currently in contact with Tweag/Modus and Numtide but haven't decided anything yet if you think your company fits contact me at zweili@contria.com | 21:00:35

In reply to @nebucatnetzer13:matrix.org I can't really help you with that, but I'm really curious what you guys use Nix for. | 18:40:59
We're a PHP shop and use it for local development environments and for testing in CI. We build container images of our Ansible repo with it and use those for deployments (until we switch to NixOS ;) In the long run I hope to fully package our applications and deploy those either directly or as containers. And even longer replace our Ubuntu systems with NixOS and get rid of Ansible. | 18:51:29
In reply to @nebucatnetzer13:matrix.org Sounds cool! | 19:06:54
It is and I find it hugely satisfying compared to the mess of technologies we had before. Not that there aren't any problems but I'm feeling that we are moving forward and are standing on a solid foundation. | 19:12:07

I've always found the Swiss tech landscape a bit stagnant. It's really encouraging to see at least some companies taking a chance with more niche paradigms. (e.g. FP) | 06:11:59

Last zhf i remember sometimes working on the same package as someone else. I saw in the NixCon org channel they are using hedgedoc. Could we maybe create a pad with a list of all broken packages? Then everyone could add a note if they are working on something and what they discovered etc. What do you guys think? | 17:07:33
In reply to @apeioo:matrix.orgI think it‘s a good idea to coordinate work and avoid duplicate work. But at the same time we need to be careful not to increase the barrier to entry even more. | 17:44:24

In reply to @apeioo:matrix.org* I think it‘s a good idea to coordinate work and avoid duplicate work. But at the same time we should be careful not to raise the barrier to entry for newcomers even higher than it already is. | 07:41:38
Maybe a list of attendees and everyone adds the package they work on. Can even be multiples but this way you maybe could even should into the room: "Who is John? I would like to help with package X." Doesn't need to be something formal just something we could mention and start doing. | 17:06:12
