@room A sincere thank you also from my side for the amazing weekend! As per usual I've prepared a little feedback ticket here: https://github.com/nix-community/developer-workshop/issues/5

Please take a moment to share your thoughts. This will allow us to organise even better events in the future. 🙂

@ra33it0:matrix.orgra33it0Gruezi I heard this is the place for Nixers in Switzerland. I checked the meetup group but could not find upcoming events, how often do you guys do the meetups? 10:05:24
@john-rodewald:nixos.devjohn-rodewald Welcome to the group! Unfortunately, you just missed the ZHF event that we organise every 6 months (before NixOS releases). In addition to that, we’ve been trying to get small-scale monthly meetups back on track. 11:42:03

@ra33it0:matrix.orgra33it0Wow that's cool I will make sure I will be around next time. My question regarding the meetup is what is the main challenge getting it back on track or making a weekly? Are there so few nix users in switzerland or are there other reasons? I am asking since I am in the processes of moving to Switzerland, and right now part of the weekly NixOS meetup with about 15 attendees. I think it would be great to make this possible in Switzerland as well. :) 08:46:16
@ners:nixos.devners Wow, weekly is quite intense. I’ll be happy if we have a steady monthly thing going. 🙂 12:51:40
@ners:nixos.devners I’d say the biggest challenge is simply organisational: someone needs to take initiative to find a time and venue for it to happen, think of what we’ll do, and try to convince everyone it’s a good idea to attend.

That someone is currently me, but I’d love to have help with any of these topics.

@fabio.lenherr:matrix.orgFabio LenherrWhat did you usually do during the monthly meetings? E.g how long were they etc14:59:58
@infinisil:matrix.orginfinisilWe only had one so far, but we just chatted for a couple hours in the evening :)16:33:54
@fabio.lenherr:matrix.orgFabio LenherrSounds nice as well, for that even an open space would be fine during summer.16:34:56

Interesting,

Imo it depends how the meetups are done, if it includes finding new venues or having talks it would be very though to do a weekly that's for sure.
If its just people coming together, hacking together or just hanging out its more manageable.🙂

But I think its also key to have permanent place otherwise consistency is difficult.

09:50:00
@ners:nixos.devners You’re right, if we had a reliable, dedicated venue, that’d relieve some stress indeed.  09:50:42
@ra33it0:matrix.orgra33it0When I am there I would be down to help you in making it more frequent but it probably wont be before September.10:04:15
