PowerMacs look for a HFS partition on an APM disk with a blessed system dir and a tbxi-blessed bootinfo file (with all-caps SGML tags). this seems quite decent, covers the bootinfo stuff in general (sans Apple-specific shenanigans). page 21 covers the normal CHRP multiboot menu icon stuff in "3.1.6.7 ICON element" and "3.1.6.7.1 BITMAP element".
