I think Théophane did extensive pushes to Nix teams already. Some people who had assumptions they wanted to test have gotten involved (mainly the doc, UX and core maintainers teams). | 03:09:08
Good question. Design phase can be considered done when we have stabilized (e.g. no discussion for a few days). | 03:11:13
| Guillaume Desforges: perhaps something about participation/contribution? "what would help you contribute more often to Nixpkgs? to NixOS? to Nix?" | 03:11:57 | |
| The part where I'll need most help will be publication: last year we did not publicize enough. I feel like we should add a banner everywhere we can on official resources (nixos.org, NixOS Wiki, ...) and make recurrent communication on socials. | 03:12:15 | |
| Please come to #survey:nixos.org to discuss this :) | 03:12:53 | |

| Hey, I'm not able to make it and I have to skip our meeting today. Just to confirm: the newsletter should be ready to send by the end of this week, correct? | 18:09:19 | |
| I'm triple-booked with the Nix team and a work meeting... sorry. | 20:05:47 | |
| I'm trying to document swag sources/providers here: https://github.com/NixOS/marketing/pull/2 (is this already somewhere else?) | 20:06:49 | |
| You could also add https://nix-anarchy.myspreadshop.de/ | 20:42:35 | |
In reply to @fritz.otlinghaus:helsinki-systems.deThat's great, but the page is more about where we can produce Nix swag, not a source for already designed swag :D but having a list for that would also be great | 20:52:24
In reply to @idabzo:matrix.orgYes, that would be great | 21:46:28
| djacu: tomberek: one thing I forgot was we should write a shorter post about the Scale + NixCon NA, nothing long just some text with few pictures. I'll start it in a PR but I would need pictures since I only have one :) | 21:48:00 | |

In reply to @garbas:matrix.orgSome pictures have been gathered here. https://discourse.nixos.org/t/nixcon-na-photos/41770 | 02:28:54
In reply to @tomberek:matrix.orgI merged this and an improving on it now. Got some good links from the EFF. | 02:47:20

| What is the current state and usage of the NixOS Twitter account? | 11:08:37 | |
| The Twitter/x Account is as far as i know played out to from Buffer as the other accounts are too. It is on par with the rest of the accounts content wise. Or what kind of state or usage does your question refer to? | 11:52:46 | |
| Yes that answers my question | 12:30:14 | |
| Twitter has increasingly become enshittified, with login walls everywhere and even killing Nitter as the last workaround. Do we still want to keep providing value to that network by posting content on it? | 12:31:16 | |
| I mean, imo. it's no extra effort atm. but since IdaBzo is responsible, I tag her :D | 12:33:13 | |
In reply to @piegames:matrix.orgyes we will still keep pushing updated to as many platforms as we can. including twitter. | 15:41:13

| I migrated all our passwords to vault.nixos.org, and sent you all invites. I'll be decomissioning the old instance immediately to reduce our costs, hope that's alright. | 13:07:24 | |
| btw, I can't help but notice the 👎️ on garba's reply. Please don't do that. It doesn't help change people's opinions and generally creates an atmosphere where people drive-by up/down vote and is demoralizing to the people actually doing the things. We can disagree while still being respectful to each other. | 13:52:09 | |
| Jonas Chevalier while I understand your point, I'd like to point out that this is not about having a debate or changing people's minds. Sometimes it's just about agreeing to disagree | 14:07:35 | |
| It's fine to disagree. But what does it add to the conversation? If you treat it as a datapoint, it's not actionable. All it does is create this looming sense that a few people disagreed. It doesn't tell us how informed those people are and how they are putting this decision in context with the number of followers that would be lost, for example. | 14:27:13 | |
| maybe I'm just grumpy :p | 15:56:32 | |
| What's the alternative to express disagreement? Pile on "noes"? Send PRs to remove Twitter involvement and do the consensus over there? I feel like those reactions are just the easiest way to express minor disagreements with no further action | 16:01:34 | |
