hexa | records are still cached around the world, but that will change over the next few hours | 21:25:38 |
hexa | the primary reason why I'm mentioning that is because we've migrated from netlify's custom records to cname/alias records | 21:26:07 |

infinisil | What's the Alpscale PR about from the meeting notes? | 05:36:04 |
infinisil | Cc IdaBzo ^ | 05:37:15 |
@idabzo:matrix.org | The situation wasnât fully clear from our side, so I sent an email to Maximilian and the Alpscale team to suggest a call and better understand their position and intentions. It seems they either missed it or lost interest in the idea. I tried to be proactive and helpful, so Iâm sorry it didnât lead to anything in the end. | 06:58:56 |
infinisil | IdaBzo Ah so sponsoring or so I presume? | 07:42:48 |
infinisil | But good to see that ra33it0 knows about it | 07:43:28 |
@idabzo:matrix.org | No, itâs not about sponsoring. They wanted to promote their services on the commercial page, but at the same time, they didnât have any relevant resources on their website to support or legitimize their offering of services related to Nix/NixOS.
Maybe theyâll be interested in sponsorship packages one day, but for now, I believe they have zero budget for such activities. | 08:14:42 |

Sigmanificient | In reply to @djacu:matrix.org
I like it. I believe that historically, release managers choose release logos.
I'd like more artistic styles like yours that are more thematically consistent with the logo, but this is someone I would have to talk to the SC and board about Well this is what i tried to do with my 25.05 logo submission :D | 17:07:10 |

fricklerhandwerk | IdaBzo: would you mind posting a reminder of the upcoming ZHF hackathon in Zurich? This is run by this year's organisers of NixCon and at the same venue. Apart from squashing bugs we're looking forward to meet with avocadoom and two NGI team members to continue working on UX, which has become somewhat a tradition now. We'll also have a NixOS Foundation board member with @infinsil and a bunch of Nixpkgs committers, so it will be a great opportunity to get things merged. | 09:18:14 |
@idabzo:matrix.org | okay, will do it today!

infinisil | Hey marketing team (cc IdaBzo), the foundation seems to continuously pay ~34 EUR/month for a Brevo subscription. Is this used for anything? Because if not, it should probably be canceled. The credentials for the account should be in the vault afaik. | 12:10:22 |
@idabzo:matrix.org | This is the newsletter tool, which hasn't been used since May 2024 (when I left the team, and then Rok left-you know the story). We're now trying to resurrect the newsletter (we even started discussing it during our Monday marketing syncs), so I think we're just about to publish the first issue of the NixOS Monthly Newsletter.
The credentials are in https://vault.nixos.org (see the entry Brevo â NixOS Marketing Team / Newsletter).
We pay âŹ27.20 monthly because I negotiated a 20% discount with Brevo by explaining that we are a nonprofit, and they agreed.
I did a quick investigation into cheaper alternative tools, but honestly, what Rok picked years ago is still the most affordable option available. | 12:22:10 |
infinisil | Alright, sounds fine then, unfortunate that we paid a year for something we never used | 12:24:46 |
@idabzo:matrix.org | well, the best solution would probably have been to cancel the subscription shortly after Rok left and reactivate it now-but things were a bit out of control back then | 12:26:26 |
