Quick thesis is that based on how the question is framed:
Which programming, scripting, and markup languages have you done extensive development work in over the past year, and which do you want to work in over the next year? (If you both worked with the language and want to continue to do so, please check both boxes in that row.)
My assumption is that this indicates all the people that chose they'd want to learn more/do more Nix next year

Thanks so much. How is Nix coming along in terms of market share? I thinking of things like CocoaPods and Homebrew.
(No clue why they are asking, but I suppose it could be more than idle curiosity...)
