I actually appreciate Jonas message, a thumbs down is not something parsed easily, when catching up with a room and not really helpful for the person trying to get a response. Personally I would welcome disagreement with a reason a lot more than plain disagreement.
From a marketing perspective I do still see value in posting to twitter so I would argue for keep thing like they are right now, if it's not a lot of time investment.

Regarding time investment, we use a social media management tool, afaik posting to Twitter is just toggling the "post to Twitter" switch.

What's the alternative to express disagreement? Pile on "noes"? Send PRs to remove Twitter involvement and do the consensus over there? I feel like those reactions are just the easiest way to express minor disagreements with no further action

I would say don't use alternatives. I agree with the general sentiment that negative emojis like 👎️ do not help the atmosphere, creates friction between us, and can be confusing.

If you disagree, say so. Say why. Be pointed. Be direct.
