@hacker1024:matrix.orghacker1024We have a main repository that contains Nix expressions for Hydra and core packages. We also have several auxiliary repositories with their own `default.nix` files. We generate jobsets for PRs to any repository. Some PRs, however, are from branches that are out of date and either lack a `default.nix` or are broken due to changes in the core repository. It seems that the generated jobsets with evaluation errors will keep getting evaluated periodically, even if the inputs do not change. This is a significant drain on resources. Is there a way to tell Hydra to disable jobsets if an evaluation error occurs regularly?23:47:47

@antifuchs:asf.computer@antifuchs:asf.computeris there an overview of the time that evaluation takes in hydra? I see the latest evaluation's duration, but I'd love a duration over time...14:07:02

timeout

would meta.timeout help with this?

@chayleaf:matrix.pavluk.orgchayleafor maybe meta.maxSilent?19:26:16
@rick:matrix.ciphernetics.nlRick (Mindavi)Either could help, but what's up with the build?20:44:15
@chayleaf:matrix.pavluk.orgchayleafmy server is just slow20:56:15
@chayleaf:matrix.pavluk.orgchayleafand it isn't being built, this is just the evaluation20:56:38
@0xmrtt:envs.net0xMRTT [envs.net] changed their display name from 0xMRTT to 0xMRTT (Old).20:59:37
@rick:matrix.ciphernetics.nlRick (Mindavi)I am not sure if eval is affected by these timeouts, actually 21:26:50
@chayleaf:matrix.pavluk.orgchayleaffor context, my last successful eval took a total of 5 hours21:27:09
@rick:matrix.ciphernetics.nlRick (Mindavi)They seem mainly for builds to me21:27:07
@rick:matrix.ciphernetics.nlRick (Mindavi)Did you check the output of hydra in journalctl?21:27:36
@rick:matrix.ciphernetics.nlRick (Mindavi)That's pretty long21:27:46
@rick:matrix.ciphernetics.nlRick (Mindavi)So yeah, not sure21:28:00
@rick:matrix.ciphernetics.nlRick (Mindavi)Sounds like it's _some_ timeout indeed21:28:11
@chayleaf:matrix.pavluk.orgchayleafyeah, it just doesn't specify which one...21:28:28
