@andi:kack.itandi-The whole thing is often called a rust based Linux distro and all the traditional C dependencies are still there... Including systemd17:01:41

@keithy:matrix.orgkeithyddclient is starting before dnsmasq can I change the order I thought I could set .after19:21:09
@keithy:matrix.orgkeithy systemd.services.ddclient.after = [ "default.target" ]; fixed it19:25:43
@keithy:matrix.orgkeithydo I submit a bug report?19:25:50
@arianvp:matrix.orgArianI think I need more context. Ordering after default.target is a bad idea19:27:01
@arianvp:matrix.orgArianMeans booting up is delayed until all other services are started. Which is very not parralel19:27:22
@keithy:matrix.orgkeithyddclient typically asks what is my ip address , and if dns is not up when it does it, it repeats and gives up.19:27:59
@arianvp:matrix.orgArianYou can order after nss-lookup.target to make sure it starts up after DNS is up19:28:44
@keithy:matrix.orgkeithyok...19:28:51
@arianvp:matrix.orgArianIf that doesn't work (idk if the dnsmasq service has this) you could do after = [ dnsmasq.service ];19:29:16
@keithy:matrix.orgkeithycould do19:29:31
@keithy:matrix.orgkeithyunable to determine IP address - r nss-lookup.target doesnt work19:34:43

@qyliss:fairydust.spaceAlyssa Rossdoes anyone have any idea what I should do about all the dlopen stuff in systemd when building it statically? 16:11:04
@qyliss:fairydust.spaceAlyssa Rosspoeterring says he'd take a patch to optionally turn the dlopen's back into proper dynamic links, btw16:15:11
@andi:kack.itandi-
In reply to @qyliss:fairydust.space
does anyone have any idea what I should do about all the dlopen stuff in systemd when building it statically?
Probably meson related? At least mostly? Also do they support static linking at all these days? I remember having a hard time many many years ago when I tried that in Gentoo.

@hpfr:matrix.orghpfrif a package has a systemd service and a nixos module adding the package to systemd.packages, but then you write your own service in your system config, does NixOS use the .service.d/overrides.conf to handle this?19:39:15
@roosemberth:orbstheorem.chRoos I'd expect it to treat /run/current-system/sw/share/systemd, like /ust/lib/systemd/system, that is, lowest priority if a service with the same name is found under /etc/systemd/system. 19:40:51
