@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_this looks rather complicated https://source.android.com/devices/automotive/start/passthrough22:56:19
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_can robotnix help me with the bluetooth stuff?22:56:27
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_Im open to better ideas, basically i want to sniff some bel22:57:12
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_ * Im open to better ideas, basically i want to sniff some BLE22:57:14
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_also do I remember correctly that robotnix needs like 100 gigs to build or something?23:04:51
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_Ive never actually used it23:04:55
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_"The AOSP project recommends at least 250GB free disk space as well as 16GB RAM" holy shit23:05:35
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrfI think 100GB is closer to the real number than 250GB, but it's good to still have some margin23:06:44
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrfand IIRC the latest version is now starting to push beyond >16GB unfortunately. (definitely it is for the kernel)23:07:19
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_even if i ask someone if i can build with their hardware idek how i can reasonably do this23:07:29
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrfusing zram can help23:07:35
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_if someone throws hardware at me and is willing to help or something, I can try to make an "enable bluetooth in the emulator with a dongle" module23:08:37
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrf pie_: unfortunately I don't have any experience with android auto (either in the emulator or on real cars) 23:08:44
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_is it significantly different23:08:58
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrf pie_: Yeah, those instructions could potentially be turned into a robotnix module 23:08:59
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrfbut that could help people after you--blazing the trail is the hard part :)23:09:23
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_this could be a major capability given that it doesnt seem to be widely supported23:10:01
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_(i dont know if thats because google doesnt want people to know about it?)23:10:19

well yes but RE: there is no way i can build this unless someone throws a shell at me

the fact that its "automotive" if thats different from the normal distro,is both worrying, and id hope it doesnt matter, usb passthrough should be pretty standard right ._.
23:11:56
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_but the bluetooth stack probably isnt23:12:03
@danielrf:matrix.orgdanielrfI'm just now reading more about this, is the idea that this would let you emulate software running on a car? or on the phone?23:13:08
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_dunno lol23:13:29
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_or do you mean my project23:13:38
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_i want to emulate an app that uses ble with some hardware so that i can reverse engineer the hardware23:13:52
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_i can just reverse engineer the app probabyl but this is a good exercise i thnk23:14:09
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_i go at things from multiple directions23:14:15
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_decompiled code is "dead"23:14:29
@jcie74:matrix.orgpie_looking at a real live capture might also be easier (or not)23:15:39
