@manveru:matrix.orgmanveru i dunno, but it seems nickel can't express something like { rules | Record Str -> #Rule } (or however that'd be written) to define that i simply want a record with user-chosen keys but specific value types... 09:40:43
@manveru:matrix.orgmanveru basically rules = mkOption { type = attrsOf (submodule {name, ...}: { ... }; }; in nix 09:42:24
@manveru:matrix.orgmanverudhall had the same problem, which is why i gave up on that :|09:43:06
@manveru:matrix.orgmanveruso i'll stick with Nix and CUE for now, since they can work with such data more easily09:43:44
@manveru:matrix.orgmanveru garbas: are there any plans regarding that? I looked through the nickel docs and examples and didn't find any mention... 09:46:55

I think Yann had some plans about this, but I think he just didn't have the time to look at this usecase.

Could you please create an issue about it to make sure Yann does not forget to look at this usecase?

@manveru:matrix.orgmanveruwhy does this try to build cacert and curl? i also did a build for curl and bash, and they both simply took it from the /nix/store...12:15:57
@manveru:matrix.orgmanveruhm, i suspect it has something to do with the way fetchurl and cacert depend on each other...13:00:24

@manveru:matrix.orgmanveru ok... for some reason the only way i could get this to work was putting cacert into system.extraDependencies... weird stuff 07:39:15

Yes, it is. Most evaluation functions take their return value as argument

@theophane:hufschmitt.netRegnat(Which is a very painful way of doing things tbh, but I don’t think there’s a better way if we want to manually control the allocations)12:10:00

@andi:kack.itandi-

a while ago I was playing around with a massively nested flake setup. It mostly worked out but just now I realized that ever since my garbage collection is broken:

@andi:kack.itandi-Actually that is due to the additional "/trash"part :/07:57:05
