@crushing-smite:matrix.orgcrushing-smiteI am also okay with manually re-assigning the apple security permissions. But I really want the apps to show the latest version in launcher.18:59:55
@crushing-smite:matrix.orgcrushing-smite* I am also okay with manually re-toggling the apple security permissions. But I really want the apps to show the latest version in launcher.19:00:03

@samasaur:matrix.orgsamasaurlinkApps should still create symlinks. Spotlight (and thus the app launcher in Tahoe onwards) don't pick up symlinks, so you probably want to use copyApps instead19:07:45
@samasaur:matrix.orgsamasaurThe general consensus is that copying apps is better in pretty much every metric19:08:14
@crushing-smite:matrix.orgcrushing-smiteIs app launcher = spotlight?19:08:48
@crushing-smite:matrix.orgcrushing-smitelike, same """app"""?19:09:11
@samasaur:matrix.orgsamasaurI'm not actually sure what you're referring to when you say app launcher19:09:22
@samasaur:matrix.orgsamasaurI assumed Launchpad, which is part of spotlight in Tahoe on19:09:40
@crushing-smite:matrix.orgcrushing-smitehttps://www.iphonelife.com/sites/iphonelife.com/files/edit_launchpad_1.jpg19:09:45
@crushing-smite:matrix.orgcrushing-smiteprobably the launchpad19:09:50
@samasaur:matrix.orgsamasauryeah that's launchpad19:09:54
@samasaur:matrix.orgsamasaurseparate thing before Tahoe, part of spotlight from Tahoe on19:10:18
@crushing-smite:matrix.orgcrushing-smite enabling targets.darwin.copyApps.enable then. Does it require a reboot after rebuild? 19:12:21

@crushing-smite:matrix.orgcrushing-smiteAnd yes, I've added vanilla Terminal.app, which I then restart - and it's gone from App-Management-allowed apps19:15:58
@crushing-smite:matrix.orgcrushing-smitethank you apple πŸ‘οΈ19:16:06
@samasaur:matrix.orgsamasauryeah that's a bug that we were seeing in home-manager19:17:29
@crushing-smite:matrix.orgcrushing-smiteI tried once again - it disappears from allow-list exactly the moment darwin-rebuild hits the log line for copying apps πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ19:17:30
@samasaur:matrix.orgsamasaurI don't remember how to work around it in HM19:17:56
@samasaur:matrix.orgsamasaurnix-darwin works fine19:18:02
@samasaur:matrix.orgsamasaurI think maybe you need to use sudo?19:18:11
@crushing-smite:matrix.orgcrushing-smiteI do19:18:51
@samasaur:matrix.orgsamasaurIs your HM configuration used as a module as part of your nix-darwin configuration19:19:39
@crushing-smite:matrix.orgcrushing-smiteas a module19:19:52
